Robert Carroll, LLB (European) (Hons), Dip. LP., NP., Managing Director and Solicitor

Robert Carroll trained as a solicitor at Maclay Murray and Spens before putting several years of studying Scottish and French law, and two years of legal training, to good use by working as a DJ and pianist in Southeast Asia.

On returning to the UK he worked as a litigation solicitor, maintaining a 100% success record in the courts, before joining international commercial law firm DLA Piper as an Intellectual Property solicitor.

He subsequently trained and worked as a self-employed property sales agent with a multinational estate agency firm and then an Edinburgh solicitors’ firm, bringing nearly 100 properties to the market in his first year.

Out of a belief that neither the existing solicitor nor estate agency models provide the best possible service to the property-buying and selling public, Robert set up MOV8 Real Estate, Estate Agents and Solicitors.

Robert is a certified Success Coach, speaks French and German as well as passable English, is a PADI-certified Advance Open Water Diver, and can be found from time to time singing around Edinburgh with his band, the Vendetta Ride.  He is mortified by his photo.

He is passionate about helping people develop to the fullest of their potential and recruits only people who have a passion for people and life.

Scott Grieve, Office Manager and Property Valuer

With a background in management and training in multi-national property and travel companies, Scott has a breadth of experience with unparalleled enthusiasm. Responsible for managing our Head Office, Scott is responsible for the training and development of our team to deliver the very best results for our clients. Scott is the token Australian in the office and has resided here for 11 years, a keen surfer he has swapped the warm, clear waters of the Indian Ocean for the North Sea and spotless Firth of Forth.

Amy Scott, Property Manager (Team Leader)

Legal eagle Amy got her LLB (Hons) law degree from Edinburgh University before deciding that a career in property sales and client management was for her. Amy has worked her way through the ranks to become team leader in the Property Management team. Amy is a friendly and hardworking professional and is a fine mentor to the rest of her team.

Louise Henderson, Property Manager

With an eye for aesthetics, Louise graduated with a BA (Hons) Interior Design from Edinburgh College of Art and decided that instead of designing the interiors of properties she'd rather sell them. Louise is always striving to provide the best possible experience for our clients and is often the first point of contact with the property management team.

Stephen Riddles, Property Manager

Stephen graduated from Heriot Watt University with a combined studies degree in Maths and Business. Stephen is the office "Mr Nice", always willing to help out where possible with clients and colleagues alike.

Susan Lamb, Property Manager

With years of experience working in estate agency firms throughout Edinburgh, Susan brings an air of unflappable calm to the sometimes frenetic world of estate agency. Susan is the newest member of our growing team but already one of the most experienced.

David Blair, Property Sales Consultant

The joker in our pack and experienced in more fields than David Bellamy, David now turns his seasoned artistic eye to providing our clients with the best presentation and photographs of their properties when going to market. He has been an integral part of the company's growth since day one and continues to enjoy seeing the business grow every year.

Nicola Simpson, Property Valuer

With a BA (Hons) in European Studies from the University of Leeds, Nicola has worked in our Property Management team before moving on to our valuation team. Proud driver of our cute wee Smart Car, Nicola is the friendly face our clients will first meet when deciding to utilise our product and services.

Alexandra Macdonald, Property Valuation Assistant

Alexandra joined MOV8 in 2011 and is another very talented member of our team. Her educational background includes an MA Hons Degree in Psychology, but coming from a long family line of surveyors, her knowledge of property enables her to fulfil the role of valuations support with a fine attention to detail. Alix (as she likes to be known) loves travelling and has recently returned to us from a worldwide journey that would make David Attenborough jealous!

Gillian Smith, Book Keeper

Our very own Carol Vorderman, Gillian makes sure that our accounts and books are compliant with the strictest of Law Society tests. Gillian has also been with Mov8 Real Estate since day one and her experience and attention to detail is the perfect fit for this industry.
