You may recall a few months ago MOV8 Real Estate was lucky enough to be nominated and shortlisted for the prestigious Scottish Legals Awards in the categories of Community Contribution and Employer of the Year. We thought that we would just update on what happened at the awards in late March 2015 and also give you a wee update about our upcoming activities in relation to charity and great causes.
Scottish Legal Awards
The winners were announced at a glamourous awards dinner in the beautifully refurbished Assembly Rooms. Sadly, we didn’t win in the categories we were shortlisted in, but it was still a huge honour to be recognised by our industry for the work that we do both to encourage a great working environment and also within our local community. Huge congratulations have to go out to Digby Brown LLP who won both the Community Contribution award and Employer of the Year awards this year. Their activities in both categories have been truly outstanding and it gives us something to strive for as our own company hopefully perhaps approaches the size of their organisation in the years to come.
Coming up next…
MOV8’s commitment to supporting our local communities doesn’t stop there…
We’ve been pulling together our Corporate and Social Responsibility plan for our charitable activities in the coming year and we’ve got some fantastic events coming up that we’re all very excited about!
Most recently, our staff participated in the ‘Cash For Kids’ Superhero Day and raised £150 for this excellent cause. Staff across our three offices in Corstorphine, Leith and Newington really got into the spirit of things, dressing up as their favorite superhero (the overwhelming favourite is Batman, apparently) and selling cakes to clients. You can read all about it and see some fantastic pictures of our team in their costumes at http://www.mov8realestate.com/2015/05/superhero-day/.
Next month we’re back to Corstorphine Primary School to assist them with a fundraising Fun Run. All profits will go to Project Play, a project run by parents at the school with a view to creating an amazing space for children from the school and local community to run, jump, play and relax. The Fun Run aims to bring children, parents and residents of the local community together, along with MOV8 staff of course, to enjoy a jog or leisurely stroll around St Margaret’s Park and maybe have an ice cream afterwards whilst raising money all the time for this great cause. Setting 10% Aside
Throughout the remainder of the year we will continue to set aside 10% of all of our company profits so that we can spend it on great causes. We’ll keep you posted throughout the year with what we have planned, so watch out to see what we’ll be up to next and how you can get involved. Everyone at MOV8 is incredibly proud to work for a company that makes the time and effort to work closely with deserving causes, both near to us and further afield, and to know that the better we do for our clients, the better we do for these deserving causes.
