Updated Guidance for Home Movers from Scottish Government 24 September 2020

The Scottish Government has updated its guidance on home moves in light of the enhanced restrictions that it brought into force on 22 September 2020. The Law Society of Scotland sent the legal profession an update earlier today, as follows:

“As per the original Guidance dated 29 June 2020, all home moves will continue to be permitted, provided they can be carried out safely.

“Professionals and people who need to enter people’s homes to facilitate a home move can continue to do so. Viewings by prospective purchasers can continue with a ‘virtual first’ emphasis.”

This means that home moves, and all activities related to them such as viewings, valuations and photography appointments, remain subject to the same sensible restrictions that were in place prior to the further restrictions that were brought into force earlier this week.

At MOV8, our primary concern has to be the safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients, customers and the public at large. At the same time, we are delighted for our clients that they remain able to continue any home buying or selling activities.

If this position changes, we will of course let you know just as soon as we can.

Kindest regards,

Robert Carroll

Managing Director
