Over the past 6 months MOV8 Real Estate has been working alongside the parent committee of Corstorphine Primary School to help them achieve their dream of creating a state of the art playground for the pupils of the school. Last year, we gave the school £5,000 but we also gave them a promise; to help them raise a further £5,000 towards their goal by creating and producing various different fundraising and education initiatives to engage pupils and parents. Our most recent success was a Fun Run, held on 13th June in St Margaret’s Park.
Whatever The Weather
Considering the scorching temperatures we had just the day before, we were particularly unlucky with the weather on the day of the Fun Run. It was a cold, damp day but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the children and their parents who came, ready to run around the park for a great cause! If anything it displays the fantastic attitude of the parent and the pupils of this lovely school – don’t let a little bit of rain put you off! The volunteers also did a fantastic job of making the event fun and lively; their enthusiasm certainly is infectious!
Running and Bouncing
The total amount raised from sponsorship collected by children participating and the stalls was £1,952.54, with more money promised soon meaning we’ll hit the £2,000 mark! All children who participated came away with their very own certificate and medal, as well as a MOV8 teddy bear and balloon. They then enjoyed the various stalls set up around the park with their parents and friends, such as ice cream, face painting, nail painting, some lovely bits and bobs for sale and a bouncy castle!
Commitment to our Pledge
We are delighted to announce that this event took the MOV8 total funds raised to over £5,000, the amount we pledged to Project Play to help them raise after our initial contribution. It was also achieved in just half the time as our deadline was December 2015! None of this would have been possible without the help of our wonderful staff who routinely volunteer their time and resources to help us give something back to our local communities. Thank you to all of them who have baked cakes, eaten cakes, blown up balloons, talked to parents, designed posters, entertained children and given up your personal time to do so. We also want to thank them for the hard work they do every day, in the office. If it wasn’t for our fantastic staff working so hard on behalf of our clients we wouldn’t be set aside 10% of our profits to dedicate to great causes such as these.
So thank you and congratulations Project Play!
